Elektron Character Set
About
Another early Device font, Elektron has an unusual E and g in which lower vertical strokes move towards the centre of the character, a feature also seen on the tails of the R, K and Q. Like Contour, which was designed around the same time, it has an unusual top-weighted construction. Although very different in style, this feature is reminiscent of Roger Excoffon’s 1960s Antique Olive series for Fonderie Olive, France, and lends Elektron a similar sixties-modern vibe. Available in three weights, and a shaded version in which the shadow sits vertically below, a reference to photo-headline faces of the period.
