Interceptor Character Set

About

Interceptor was designed for a comic project for which, amongst other ideas, the logo to Blade Runner had been provided as a stylistic starting point. Not wanting to merely copy the design, an investigation into the structure of this and similar typefaces such as Aldo Novarese’s 1970 Stop for Italian foundry Nebiolo was undertaken. The horizontal white stipe was used across almost all the character set for consistency, but moved to the bottom for the U, W and Q and dropped altogether for the A for reasons of elegance.
